Building of Dutch tugs Europa and Azië ordered according to the Dutch newspaper Het Vrije Volk dated 23 December 1959

An item reported that the Nederlandse Stoomsleepdienst v/h P. Smit Jr. ordered the building of the 2-1.000 hp tugs Europa and Azië mainly to serve in the Europoort and on the Nieuwe Waterweg. This were the first tugs in the harbour of Rotterdam fitted out with Voigt Schneider propellers. Dimensions more >28 x 8< x 3,70 metres.
