The Greek and Turkish navies in the Levant according to the Nederlandsche Staatscourant dated 31 December 1824

Constantinople, Turkey, 25 November. The citizens of the capital city sighted the returning of the Captain Pasha with some ships all in a very worse condition and this despite the fact that the Captain Pasha was able during his stay of four weeks in the Dardanelles to repair as much as possible. It was clear even for those who still doubted that the fleet was defeated. His successor Ibrahim Pasha wished to land at Candia and stay during the winter but which was prevented by the Greek fleet and who have to return to Boedroen after suffering new losses.
