An item referred to a letter written by captain Young on
board of the bark Favorite of Fairhaven. She was lying on 15 November 1864 at
Honolulu with a catch of 240 barrels whale oil and 4.000 lbs after a cruise
in the Arctic. The oil was transferred to the Tamerlane of and destined for New
Bedford and the bone to the Helen Mar bound for Boston. The intention was to go
Westward and hunt the coming season in the Arctic.
