An item dated Ramsgate, England the 14th reported the departure of the tug Vulcan towards the Goodwin Sands to pick up the Dutch bark Suriname captain Ouwehand and bring her towards Downs. The Suriname was underway from Amsterdam, Netherlands towards Surinam and stranded on the Goodwin Sands. With the support of the Vulcan was she refloated loosing an anchor with chain and anchored now off Downs.
