An item dated Den Helder, Netherlands the 19th reported the arrived at Wednesday evening at 19.00 o’clock of the Dutch bark ship Whampoa captain G.J. Mets. While her anchor chains were broken tried the crew to get her under sail again. The form the bow hanging chains however forced her hitting the Zuidwal. All efforts were done with success to unload her cargo of 1.800 bales into lighters towed into the Nieuwediep by the steam tug Stad Amsterdam captain De Liefde. The tug then towed the Whampoa last night 23.00 o‘clock into the harbour.
