Dutch brig Zr.Ms. Zwaluw transported cowpox vaccine to Curacao according to the Dutch newspaper Zierikzeesche Courant dated 11 June 1819

An item dated Curacao 27 March reported that the ships doctor of the Dutch brig Zr.Ms. Zwaluw succeeded in taking the cowpox vaccine to the island making the government able to start with the vaccination on the islands Curacao, Bonaire and Aruba. The brig was used to escort regularly merchant ships bound for Porto Cabello [Puerto Cabello] and Laguayra which harbours in Venezuela were controlled by the Spanish.
