An item dated Vlissingen, Netherlands 29 October reported the departure the same day of the Dutch corvettes Zr.Ms. Hippomenes (1) commanded by De Qaurtel towards the Dutch West Indies and the Zr.Ms. Amphitrite (2) commanded by Machielsen and the Heldin (3) commanded by Anemaet both to the Dutch East Indies.

2. 1. Flush-decked corvette, on stocks at the navy yard at Vlissingen, Netherlands by C. Soetermeer 1827, launched 22 June 1830, reduced to 20-gun ‘kuil’-corvette 1837, stricken >1851-1852<, with as dimensions 39 (between perpendiculars) x 10,5 (inner hull) x 4,10 (fore)-4,70 9aft) x 5,37 (hold below deck) metres and a displacement of <850 tons. The armament consisted of 18 short 30pd guns and 2-12pd guns after 1837.
3. ‘Kuilcorvette‘, on stocks at the navy yard at Amsterdam, Netherlands 1826, launched 1830, stricken or sold 1837, 28 guns, 157 men.
