The Dutch navy warships in the Schelde area according to the Dutch newspaper Zierikzeesche Courant dated 3 January 1834

An item dated Vlissingen 26 December 1833 reported that the Dutch corvette Zr.Ms. Komeet (1) while entering the Voorhaven grounded off the first bollard and capsized with low tide with as result that with high tide a huge amount of water entered the ships. All efforts were done to lift up the ship to a vertical position after removal of the guns, anchors and so on. The efforts succeeded and she was brought safely into the Dokhaven. All sailing vessels except for the Dutch corvettes Zr.Ms. Pollux (2) and Medusa (3) were now lying in the Dokhaven while the major part of the gunboats would stay during the winter at Kruiningen, Netherlands.
