Dutch 44-guns frigate Eendracht 1795-1804

Department Rotterdam, ordered to be built on 26 June 1796, on stocks at the navy yard at Rotterdam, Netherland by P. Glavimans 1796, notification dated 8 July 1796 named Eendracht, launched 28 January 1797, part of the squadron commanded by vice admiral Hartsink in the Dutch East Indies, broken at Batavia, Dutch East Indies 1804, dimensions 160 (over deck) x 45 x 15½ feet, and an armament of44 guns (28-24pd guns. 16-12pd guns). The punishment of the former commanding officer of the 68 ship of the line Cerberus namely Cornelis de Jong was executed on board of her on Monday 13 October 1800 while lying off Hellevoetsluis in the presence of her commanding officer captain lieutenant A.A. Buyskes. Further more were present the captains A. Schierhout and J. Zoeteman, both appointed as commissaries for this purpose by the High Sea Court Martial. De Jong was condemned on 19 August for cowardice for capitulating to the British forces in 1799.
