Dutch ship Ulysses entered the Simons bay with damage according to the Dutch newspaper Java-bode dated 22 August 1860

An item dated Cape of Good Hope [South Africa] 22 May reported that on the 13th the Dutch ship Ulysses captain Möllinger entered the Simons bay underway from Grimsby, England towards Macassar, Dutch East Indies suffering badly by very worse weather on the position 39° South latitude and 20° East longitude damaging rudder, sails and rigging.
