American whaler Atlantic sold to owner in New Bedford, USA according to the Whalemen’s Shipping List dated Tuesday 5 July 1859

An item reported that the former whaler (of New London) Atlantic of New York, USA of 600 tons was bought by captain Francis J. Silvn (?) and had now as homeport New Bedford. She arrived the 30th and was now again fitted out for the whaling business bound for the North Pacific Ocean. Silvn was an experienced whaler, although now with Fayal as homeport. The last time he sailed on a New Bedford whaler was between 1844-1846 on the Governor Troup.
