Of the
admiralty of the Maze, first mentioned in 1628, sources differs with her fate captured
on 17 August or wrecked in 1630, an armament of 30 guns (1628: bronze: 4-8pdr,
2-6pdr, 6-5pdr, 2 Spanish 3½pdr with emperors crown, iron 4-4pdr, 4
steenstukken, 8 chambers), a crew numbering 75 men and a tonnage of 90-100
last. Commanding officer in 1628 captain Pieter Homkens (in 1631 called Emmekens
and indicated she was wrecked).
