An item dated Vlissingen, Netherlands reported the arrival that morning of the Russian 3-mast schooner Taara captain Ratsey [earlier called Retsop] on 10 September from Demerara with a cargo of greenheart beams for account of the Dutch firm N.V. Houthandel voorheen firma G. Alberts Lz&Co., Middelburg, Netherlands. Underway was a young sailor fallen out of the mast and drowned. He was a citizen of Middelburg
