None of the shipyards which participated in the Dutch firm N.V. Nederlandsche Vereenigde Scheepsbouw Bureaux (NEVESBU) were in March 1958 interested in building 5-7 vessels for the Egyptian coast guard.(1) The riveted steel-built vessels would have a length of 34 metres, a speed of 18 knots and accommodation for 4 officers and 12 sailors. The request was sent forwards to the Cebosine (2) at The Hague, Netherlands.
