Dutch Mercurius, row- and sail frigate Mercurius 1692-1696

Of the admiralty Zeeland, reported as a fast sailer, built >1692-1694<, last mentioned in 1696, with an armament of 40-42 guns and a crew numbering 200-242 men. In 1696 part of North Sea squadron, captain Danckert, who reported that she was as sailer as fast as if she was a privateer. Commanding officers in 1695 captain C. Danckert, in 1656-1696 captain J.F.Szn. Bisschop, in 1705 J. de Mauregnault and on  22 June 1705 off coast off Zealand captured by French while performing convoy duties. Of her crew were 60 men killed.
