Dutch screw steamship 4th class Palembang in 1880 according to the Colonial Account [Dutch East Indies] over 1881

Composite-built. Launched in 1875. Armed with 3 guns. Draught 3,5 metres. Horsepower 90nhp. Tonnage 350 tons. Maximum speed during a watch of 4 hours 6-7 geographic miles while under steam. Arrived on 6 October 1874 in the Dutch East Indies. Since November 1879 was she being repaired at Surabauay until she was commissioned on 1 April 1881 with order to replace the Padang at the station Northern Sumatra.(1)

Composite-built, call sign GQRB, on stocks at the shipyard of the Nederlandsche Stoomboot Maatschappij at Fijenoord, Rotterdam, Netherlands for account of the Department of Colonies with yard number 88 on 20 July 1873, launched on 3 March 1874, commissioned on 16 June 1874, at the naval establishment at Surabaya, Dutch East Indies the original two shells replaced by one wood-made hull with a thickness of 12cm, tightened with iron screw bolts to the iron frame, decommissioned on 1 November 1887, condemned, stricken and intended to be sold to be broken up at the naval establishment at Surabaya, Dutch East Indies at 10.00 o’clock on Saturday 21 April 1888, on Saturday 17 November 1888 was at 10.00 o‘clock a second public auction. Displacement 732 ton, dimensions 42,00 x 8,80 x 3,60 metres, horsepower 90nhp/370 ehp, speed 9,5 knots, crew numbered 100 men and an armament of 1-18cm gun and 2-12cm guns.
