French armoured cruiser Victor Hugo (1904) in 1923

Lé Gambetta-design. Launched in 1904, completed in 1907, displacement 13.108 tons tons, horsepower 27.500 hp, coal fired reciprocating machinery and an armament of 4-7.6”guns, 14-6.5” guns, 18 smaller and light guns and 2 submerged torpedo tubes.

1. Brassey‘s naval and shipping annual 1923. Displacement 13.108 ton and as dimensions 480.5 x 70.25 x 27 feet. Horsepower 28.486. Built at Lorient, France. Building costs 1.229.932 pound sterling. Armour consisted of a 5-6.75” thick belt, 2” tick deck, 3-5” protection side above belt and the main and secondary armament were protected by respectively 8” and 5”. The armament consisted of 4-7.6” guns, 16-6.4” guns, 16-9pd guns, 8-3pd guns and 2 submerged torpedo tubes. Speed 22,5 knots. Her crew numbered 728 men. Coal bunker capacity 1.320 ton. .
