New French fleet program for 1909-1910 according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad dated 1907-1908 No. 9

Danton-class


Courbet-class

An item referred to the International Revue u.d. G.A.u. F. reporting a new French fleet program for 1909. The program included the building 6-20.000/21.000ton turbine driven battleships with a speed of 20 miles and probably an armament of 6-30,5cm guns, 8-24cm guns and 18-10cm guns. A second item reported that it the new battleships to be built in 1909-1910 were probably enlarged Dalton-class of 21.000 ton with an anti torpedo boat armament of 18-10cm guns in 6 casemates protected by 10cm thick armour. The main armour was to be similar to the Dalton-class.(1)

1. The Danton-class is succeeded by the Courbet-class battleships consisting of the Courbet, France, Jean Bart and Paris with a displacement of 23,475 (standard)-25.579 tons (full load) and as armament 6x2-30,5cm/12” 45 cal Mle 1910guns, 22x1-13,8cm/5.4 Mle 1910 guns, 4x1-4,7cm/1.9” guns and 4-45cm/17.7” torpedo tubes.
