British destroyers destroyed German torpedo boat according to the Dutch newspaper Het nieuws van den dag dated 3 May 1915

An item dated London, England 2nd reported that the British warships Laforey (1), Leonidas (2), Lawford (3) and Lark chased during a hour a German torpedo boat after which she was destroyed. There were none casualties on board of the British ships. Of the German crew were 2 officers and 44 sailors rescued and taken prisoner. Earlier had the German boat the British trawler Columbia torpedoed and sunk with just one survivor, rescued by other trawlers.

1. Ex-Florizel of the Laforey-class destroyers, laid down at Fairfield Shipbuilding and Engineering Company on 9 September 1912, launched in 1913 and lost after striking a mine off the French coast on 23 March 1917.
2. Ex-Rob Roy, of the Laforey-class destroyers, launched on 30 October 1913 by Parsons Marine Steamturbine Company, hull was built by Hawthorn Leslie, Hebburn.
3. Ex-Ivanhoe, of the Laforey-class destroyers, laid down at Fairfield Shipbuilding and Engineering Company on 28 September 1912, launched on 30 October 1913.
4. Ex-Haughty, of the Laforey-class destroyers, laid down at Yarrow on 28 June 1912, launched on 26 May 1913.
