British cruiser 3rd class Comus executing trials according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad dated 1895-1896 No. 7

An item reported that the rearmed British cruiser 3rd class Comus with 89 rpm a horsepower of 1.922 ihp developed and a speed of 12 miles achieved.(1)

1. Of the Comus-class, preceded by the Bacchante-class and succeeded by the Calypso-class. Laid down as a screw steam corvette at J. Elder*Co., Glasgow, Scotland in 1876, launched on 4 April 1878, reclassified as a3rd class cruiser in 1888 and sold in 1904.
