An item reported that the Dutch steamship Zr. Ms. Etna in September 1858 the princes and other dignitaries of Tidor, Dutch East Indies which sighted the expedition towards Nieuw Guinea brought back to Ternate, Dutch East Indies and started cruising form the station there. She visited Kema, Menado and Gorontalo, Dutch East Indies until begin October 1858 and returned then back to Ambon and from the islands Ceram to pick up the governor of the Moluccas, Dutch East Indies . She returned on 3 November 1858 at Ambon and went then to Batavia, Dutch East Indies for the necessary repairs of hull and engines.(1)

Cores de Vries on Saturday morning 2 April 1864, dimensions 47,00 (between perpendiculars) x 9,00 (inner hull)x 3,45 (armed) x 5,04 (hold below main deck) metres, an armament of 4 guns (peace time 2 long and 2 short 30pd guns, in wartime 2-30pd bomb guns and 2-short 30pd guns), 178 hp horsepower and a crew numbering 100 men.
