Italian protected cruiser Elba executing trials according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad dated 1895-1896 No. 7

An item reported that the Italian protected cruiser Elba on 20th May started her trials achieving a medium horsepower of 4.928 ihp with natural draft. On the trial of 18th June with forced draft was 7.471 hp developed, 981 hp above the contracted horsepower.(1)

1. Of the Regioni-class consisting of the Umbria, Lombardia, Etruria, Liguria, Elba and Puglia, preceded by the Piemonte and succeeded by the Calabria. Laid down at the Regio Cantieri di Castellammare di Stabia, Italy on 22 September 1890, launched on 12 August 1893, commissioned on 27 February 1896 and sold to be broken up on 5 January 1920.
