French coastal artillery testing star shells according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad dated 1910-1911 no.6

An item reported that the French coastal artillery was now testing 24cm star shells without much success. Most shells did not even functioned at all. The few which did work supplied light during around 35 seconds.
