Dutch minister of navy withdrew requested budget for destroyer according to the Dutch newspaper Algemeen Handelsblad dated 18 December 1889

An item reported that the Dutch minister of Navy withdrew the same day for the time being his request for a budget for a destroyer. He did not want to interfere with the probably to be appointed commission for the coastal defence.
