Barque rigged sailing steel built 4- mast training ship. Building of such a ship was decided by law in 1985, lacking financial funds the building was delayed until she was ordered on 23 December 2010, laid down by Shipyard Marine Industrial Services (SIMA), Callao, Peru on 8 December 2010, launched on 22 December 2012 and commissioned on 27 January 2016. MMSI 760105000 and call sign OBAA. Dimensions 115,0 (over all included bowsprit) x 13,50 x 6,50 x 53,50 (air draft) metres or 378.11 x 44.3 x 21.4 x 175.6 feet and a displacement of 3.200 tons. Sail area 3.420 square metres/36.620 square feet. Fitted out with a Caterpillar 3516J engine. Speed 12 knots. Crew numbered 250 persons (included trainees). The bronze figurehead symbolizes the Inca culture of Peru and was made by Pilar Martinez Woodman. The main figure is that of the emperor or Sapa Inca Tupac Ypangui.
