Foldable blades. Unarmed. Maximum weight 1.205 kilo/5.750 lb. Maximum speed 174 kilometres/108 miles. Ceiling 3.110 metres/10.200 feet. Dimensions 9,8 (length) x 3,8 (height) x 10,7 (rotor span) metres or 32 x 12.5 x 35 feet. Originally designed to serve on board of warships undergoing trials as the XHJP-1 since March 1948. The helicopter served within the US Navy and Army, the Royal Canadian Navy and the French navy. The HUP-2 was an improvement of the HUP-2 and of which 165 were built for account of the US Navy and 16 for the French navy.
