French torpedo gunboat Cassini launched at Le Havre, France according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad 1894-1895 no. 6

An item reported the launching by Graville, Le Havre, France of the French aviso destroyer Cassini. Displacement 943 ton and as dimensions 80 x 8,32 x 3,50 (aft) metres. The machinery consisted of 2 vertical 3-cylinder compound steam engines delivering with 266 rpm 5.000 ihp allowing a maximum speed of 21 miles. She was armed with 1-18cm/7” quick firing gun, 3-6,5cm/2.6” quick firing guns, 4-3,7cm/1/5” quick firing guns and 3 torpedo tubes.(1)

Of the d’Iberville class torpedo gunboats consisting of th Casabianci, Cassini and d’Iberville, laid down by F.C. de la Méditerrannée, Graville, Le Havre, France in November 1892, launched on 5 June 1894, completed in 1895, converted into a minelayer in 1913 and sunk on 20 February 1917 when she strike a mine laid by he German submarine UC35in the Strait of Bonifacio.
