Russian bulk carrier Zoya Kosmodemyanskaya 1973-1999, Nardex 1999-2000


Never realized design as sailing version

The ship was named after a Soviet partisan and recipient of the Hero of the Soviet Union. She was one of the most revered heroines of the Soviet Union. With a deadweight of 50400 ton and as dimensions 201.6 (between perpendiculars)-215,4 (over all) x 31,8 x 12,3 metres. A bunker fuel capacity of 290 ton. Her crew numbered 40-47 man. The ship would have seven console masts weighing 130 tons each and all 70 meter tall and could operate up to 120 degrees. Speed at least 15 knots. Launched by the Okean shipyard, Nikolayev with yard number 151in 1973. First of the 8 bulk carriers to be built by that yard. October 1973 delivered to the Black Sea Shipping Company, Odessa, Ukraine. Sold by the Ukrainian Shipping Company, Ukraine to the Nardex Limited, Bolivia and renamed and in 2000 sold to ship breakers at Alang, India where she arrived on 23 February 2000.
