Venezuela bought American gunboat Isla de Cuba according to the magazine Mitteilungen aus dem Gebiete des Seewesens dated 1913 No. 1

An item reported that Venezuela recently bought from the USA the gunboat Isla de Cuba and renamed Mariscal Sucre. She was launched for the Spanish navy in 1886 and scuttled after the battle off Manila, Philippines and salvaged by the USA. Displacement 1.030 tons. Armament consisted of 6-7,6cm guns, 4-5,7cm quick firing guns and 4 machineguns.(1)

Armstrong Mitchell&Company, Elswick, Tyne and Wear, England on 25 February 1986, launched on 11 December 1886, completed on 22 September 1898, captured on 1 May 1898, commissioned on 11 April 1900, sold to Venezuela on 2 April 1912 and finally broken up in 1940.
