Chinese corvette Kuang Chou or Guangzhou 1949-1986


Of the Castle-class (preceded by the Flower-class), laid down by Pickersgill, Sunderland, United Kingdom as the HMS Nunney Castle (K446) with yard number 602 in August 1943, acquired by the Royal Canadian Navy in 1943, launched on 26 January 1944, commissioned as the HMCS Bowmansville (K493) on 28 September 1944, decommissioned on 15 February 1946, became in 1947 the Chinese merchant ship Ta Shun, taken into service in 1949, renamed Yuan Pei before she in 1949 the Kuang Chou (602) became.
