Former US Coast Guard Manzanita-class lighthouse or buoy tender Sequioa (WAGL-243). In 1959 part of the Philippine Naval Reserve, the similar Anemone was in 1957 stricken. Displacement 1.057 tons and as dimensions 190 x 90 x 13 feet. The two triple expansion inverted direct acting steam propulsion supplied via 2 shafts 1.000 ihp/1.100 shp allowing a speed of 12 (maximum 1908)-13,5 (maximum 1945) knots. Built by New York Shipbuilding, Camden, New Jersey, USA in 1908, commissioned on 13 August 1909 in the First World War part of the US Navy and since 1 July 1919 with the Lighthouse Service part of the Department of Commerce, de commissioned on 1 July 1946, handed over to the Philippines in October 1946. In US service numbered her crew 28 men (including 5 officers) and her armament in 1945 was 1-3”cal 5- gun, 2-2cm ca; 80 machineguns and 2 depth charge racks.
