New orders for Turkish merchant ships how to handle by submarine attacks according to the Dutch newspaper Haarlemsche courant dated 2 July 1942

An item reported that the Turkish cabinet took again precautionary measures while the war front approached more and more Turkish borders. For instance masters of all Turkish ships on the Aegean and Black Seas were ordered to hoist the Turkish flag when attacked by unknown submarines, to stop and to signalling what their nationality and purpose of their voyage was.
