Chilean cabinet was interested in buying German cargo ship Frankfort according to the Dutch bewspaper Delftsche courant dated 8 February 1940

An item reported that the Chilean cabinet was interested in buying the 9.000 tons German cargo ship Frankfort which seek refugee in the harbour of Talcahunao. German asked 800.000 US dollars, Chile offered just 400.000 dollars. The Chilean National Shipping stated that an joint venture was founded at Valparaiso to buy German ships.
