Former USS PC-1640, part of the PC-1638 class submarine chasers laid down by Gunderson Brothers Engineering Corporation, Portland, Oregon on 11 March 1963, launched on 14 May 1964, commissioned as the USS PC-1640, handed over to the Turkish navy and renamed TCG Yarhisar at San Diego, USA on 18 July 1965, stricken in 2005 and became a museum ship. Original technical characteristics displacement of 280 (light)-295 (full load) tons and as dimensions 175 x 23 x 10.10 feet. The machinery consisted of 2x2.400ahp ALOCP 10AT diesels allowing a speed of 20 knots. Her crew numbered 59 men. The armament consisted of 1 Mk 15 anti submarine warfare Hedgehog mortar, 3-2cm guns, 2 rocket launchers, 4 depth charge projectiles and 2 depth charge tracks. In Turkish service 65 men including 6 officers. Jane's Fighting Ships supplies as dimensions 53 x 7 x 3.1 metres or 173.7 x 23 x 10.2 feet. Range 6. nautical miles with a speed of 10 knots. Main armament in the 1980s 1-4cm gun and x2-2cm guns.
