After collision in 1928 off Cadzand, Netherlands
Collided with the British steamship Bedarcrag on Sunday 29 July 1928 off Cadzand, Netherlands in the Wielingen. Hit at the starboard she was heavy damaged and deliberately grounded to prevent sinking. The You (ex-Raimund) of the Compagnie Messageries Maritimes, Dunkirk, France of 8.597 tons, built at Bremen, Germany in 1914 was at Antwerp, Belgium loaded and underway towards Rotterdam, Netherlands for more cargo. At first was believed that she could be saved and towed for repairs to Vlissingen. Within short time water entered the ship via 4 holes and started she sinking. On Thursday was towed by 8 tugs to Rammekens. Sunday afternoon she went supported by 5 tugs to Antwerp, Belgium. German war reparations, in 1940-1941 stationed at Saigon, French Indochina and at Madagascar, seized by Germany at Marseilles, France in December 1941 and handed over to Italy in 1942 and renamed Rovereto, beached at Cape Zerbib, 5 miles away from Bizerte, Tunisia after being damaged during an American air attack on 6 April and destroyed on by the British MTB 634 on 15 April 1943.
