The Norwegian bottlenose whaling out of Tønsberg in 1890

In his report wrote the British consular-Agent Monsen at Tønsberg that 39 so-called bottlenose whalers caught totally 1.994 bottlenose. The whalers were except for a few small steamships all small sailing vessels. A bottlenose gave around a ton oil with a value of 24l-26l/ton, when delivered in Glasgow, Scotland or London, England.
