Whaler Hekla available for expedition Nathorst according tot he Dutch newspaper Rotterdamsch nieuwsblad dated 17 February 1899

An item reported that the manufacturer Hammer at Christiania [Oslo, Norway?] made the whaler Hekla available for the expedition Nathorst (1) which was to depart for Greenland on the search for Andrée.(2) Het nieuws van den dag dated 18 February reported that Hammer fitted out the Hekla and made her available without any financial compensation.

2. The Swedish Arctic explorer Salomon August Andrée (18 October 18554-october 1897), who died during his balloon expedition in Kvitoya, Arctic Norway.
