Japanese transport (ex-Bremerhaven 1920-1936, Island Trader 1936-1938, Bremerhaven 1938-1940) Teiun Maru 1940-1942

Launched by Bremen Vulkan, Vegesack, Germany with yard number 667 for the Norddeutschen Lloyd, Bremen on 9 November 1920, commissioned on 9 December 9 December 1920, used for the line on Brazil, 1928 rebuilt including adding passengers accommodation for the island service in the East Asian, started in 1929 with a voyage between Hong Kong and Rabaul,changed flagged end 1936 and as Island Trader on Hong Kong-flag, since April 1938 coastal service, laid up at Dairen as the Bremerhavem sold to Japan on 6 August 1940, since January 1941 serving as a army cargo transport and sunk after striking a mine on 1 January 1942 off Luzon, Philippines. Gross register tonnage 1.566 (original)-1.615/1.617 (after 1928) tons, tonnage under deck 1.388 tons, net tonnage 959 tons deadweight 2.500 tons and as dimensions 72,48 (between perpendiculars)-75,31 (over all) x 10,95 metres or 237.8 x 35.9 x 19.5 x 18 (loaded) feet.
