Built by Mitsubushi Zosen Kaisha Ltd., Nagasaki, Japan for Taiyo Kaiun KK, Kobe, Japan. Laid down on 11 February 1933, launched on 3 September 1933, completed on 10 January 1934, requisitioned by the Imperial Japanese Navy on 15 August 1941, converted into an auxiliary minelayer between 15 August-20 September 1941, stricken from the navy list on 1 December 1945, used by the Allied Repatriation Service for transporting Japanese military back to Japan, in 1947 again merchant ship and finally broken up between 1962-1963 at Yokosuka, Japan.
