An item reported that for the first time since the outbreak of hostilities between Finland and the Soviet Union a Finnish timber carrier arrived. The Aune H arrived on Sunday at 14.00 o’clokc loaded with 750 standaards Finnish sawn wood. At that moment were ssveral Finnish timber carriers lying in German harbors waiting for permission to leave. Via territorial waters along the Swedish and British coastlines passing the frontiers of minefields the Aune H managed to arrive at Zaandam. They left in a hurry Porvoo after an air attack five hours before despite lacking five of her crew members and a hull showing some war damage.(1)
