Dutch frigate Hr.Ms. Van Nes (F805) 1963-1980 and Indonesian KRI Oswald Siahaan (354) 1988-

Of the Van Speijk-class, frigate, based on the British Leander-class frigates. Laid down by the Kon. Mij. De Schelde, Vlissingen, Netherlands with yard number 322 on 25 July 1963, launched on 26 March 1966, commissioned on 9 August 1967, decommissioned in February 1987, acquired by the Indonesian navy on 31 October 1988and renamed Oswald Siahaan.

Displacement 2.200 (standard)-2.835 ton (full load) and as dimensions 109.7 (between perpendiculars)-113.4 (over all) x 12.5 x 5.8 metres. With 30.000 hp horsepower a speed of 285 knots. Her crew numbered original 256 after the modernization 183 men. Armament consisted original of 1x2-11.4 cm/4” Mk6 gun, 2 x Seacat surface-to-air missile launched, 1x ASW Limbo mortar, torpedo tubes and a Wasp later Lynx helicopter.
