Dutch magazine De Prins dated 30 October 1920
An item reported that the Dutch training cruiser Hr.Ms. Zeeland (1) was being fitted out for a cruise of 2 months departing mid-October planning to visit the Canary Islands, Azores, Spanish and Portuguese Atlantic harbours and possible some Western Mediterranean harbours. The naval staff of the Royal Netherlands Navy proposed a meeting with the British battleship HMS Temeraire (2) in a harbour during this voyage.

Supervisors during the building were the naval engineers J. lt Hooft until 1 May 1896 and since then J.L.K. van Waveren. Head engineer of the shipyard was J. Janszen jr.

Of the Bellerophon-class 5x2-30.5cm/12”guns battleships, preceded by HMS Dreadnought, succeeded by St. Vincent-class, building ordered on 30 October 1906, laid down by the HM Dockyard Devonport on 1 January 1907, launched on 24 August 1907, commissioned on 15 May 1909, decommissioned in 1921 and sold to be broken up on 7 December 1921.
