Building ordered in May 1892, laid down by Stabilimento Technico Triestino, Trieste on 16 February 1893, launched by countess Kielmannsegg on 7 July 1895, commissioned on 13 May 1897, sunk by Italian MAS in the Bay of Muggia near Trieste on 10 December 1917, salvage ordered on 15 December 1917, salvage stopped on 7 June 1918 and broken up in 1920s. Of the Monarch-class consisting of the Monarch, Wien and Budapest, succeeded by the Habsburg-class.
