Whaler Flying Childers active off Partridge Island according to the The Hobart Town Advertiser dated 25 February 1865

An item referred to captain McGregor being at Hobart Town, Tasmania returning from the Recherche Bay that the whaler Flying Childers was at Partridge Island trying out a 10 tun whale, the first whale she secured. On the same occasion she lost already another large whale with 2 boats smashed and the young crew member Wrathall lost.
