Part of Minekaze-class destroyers improved Nokaze sub-class, preceded by Momi-class, succeeded by Wakatake-class. Building ordered under 1918 Fiscal Year, laid down by Miazura Naval Arsenal on 7 November 1921, launched on 24 June 1922, completed on 11 November 1922, damaged in Northern waters in 1944, repaired and converted into a kaiten (human torpedo) carrier on 1 February 1945, stricken on 5 October 1945, acquired by Taiwan on 3 October 1947, by 1958 laid up, non-operational and almost in hulk condition and in 1960 broken up. Displacement 1,350 (standard)-1,700 (full load) tons and as dimensions 320 (between perpendiculars)-327.5 (waterline)-336.5 (over all) x 29.25 x 11.5 feet. Geared turbines propulsion and 3 Kampon boilers supplying 22,000 ship allowing a speed of 28 (nowadays)-34 (original) knots and a range of 4,000 nautical miles/15 knots/315 tons oil fuel bunker capacity. Crew numbered 150 men. Armament 1-12cm/4.7” gun. 20-2.5cm anti aircraft guns and 8-1.3cm guns.
