An item reported the arrival of the ss Dniepr (1) belonging to Wrangel’s forces at Rotterdam, Netherlands coming from the Black Sea. She was subject of two claims one of the Italian Banco dir Roma for the value of her cargo and one of the Soviet Government that all former ships of Wrangel (2) were their property.

1. The Dutch newspaper Nieuwe Haarlemsche courant dated 11 January 1921 reported the arrival of the Dneper at Rotterdam on 9 December loaded with grain for J.F. and F. Schellen. She was seized by bailiff W. Fonteyne as requested by the Soviet Government, but already seized by the bank for a debt of 37,533 pound sterling. She was property of the Russian Steam Navigation and Trading Company, Marseille, France [or Odessa, Ukraine] and hired for some time by Wrangel. The De avondpost dated 10 January reported that she came from Constantinople, Turkey with as captain A. Pjatenko. Her officers, drivers and mates were Russian, the sailors weren Russian (11), Bulgarian and Turkish.
2. Pyotr Nikolayevich Wrangel (27 August 1878 Novalexandrovsk, Russian Empire-25 April 1928 Brussels, Belgium, commander in chief of the Armed Forces of South Russia 4 April-21 November 1920. Wrangel's Fleet consisted of tof what was left of the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Imperial Navy. In 1924 became the Soviet government the owner of this fleet interned at Bizerte, Tunesia. All ships were sold to be broken up.
