An item reported that the French merchant screw steamship Espoir underway from Salonica, Greece to Constantinople, Turkey arrived at Bourgas, Bulgaria on 9 March loaded with oil for the Standard Oil Co., New York, USA. During the unloading the were 5,000 rifles in the night directly transported th the Custom House and partly sent to the interior by rail, the remaning rifles were on 14 March seized by the British Legation.
