Italy assumed the control over the Whitehead plant at Fiume [Reijka, Crotia] according to the Weekly appreciation of matters of naval interest No.13 week ended 15 March 1919

An item reported that the Italy assumed the control over the Whitehead plant at Fiume [Rijeka, Croatia] and supplying the needed money to continue the labor. The local managers wanted to close down due that the unremunerative work done. The Italians reacted by piling u debt against the factory. The suggestion was that if control was needed this should be executed by a commission of the Allies.
