The Jaarboek van de Koninklijke Nederlandsche Zeemacht 1900-1901 reported that the British battleship HMS Centurion (1) visited Sabang (2), Dutch East Indies on 10-12 July 1901. The Dutch newspaper Deli courant dated 16 September reported her visit Sabang and that she made a voyage around the island.

2. The coal bunker station at Sabang was used by Dutch and foreign war and merchant ships.
