Japanese cargo ship (ex-Wearwood 1912-1926) Roko Maru 1926-1944

Call sign JGGB. Built by John. Blumer&Co., Sunderland, England in May 1912 and torpedoed and sunk by the American submarine USS Tang (SS-306) on 11 August 1944. Gross tonnage 3.328 tons, under deck 2,940 tons, net tonnage 2,011 tons and as dimensions 335.0 x 48.0 x 22.4 feet. Reciprocating propulsion 83 nhp, coal bunker capacity 740 tons, range 6,100 nautical miles/8.5 knots and speed 8.5 (normal cruising)-10 (maximum) knots.
